Darwin to Broome Selfdrive Itinerary

Self Drive Itinerary
Day 1. Arrive Darwin.
Arrive Darwin and collect your rental vehicle.
Overnight - Darwin.
Day 2. Darwin.
Day at leisure in Darwin. You may like to explore Litchfield National Park.
Overnight - Darwin.
Day 3. Darwin to Kakadu.
Approx 257 km (160 miles).
Make your way to Kakadu. Travel along the Arnhem Highway to Jabiru and Kakadu National Park. On your journey you may wish to visit the Window on the Wetlands Visitors Centre, enjoy a cruise on the Adelaide River Queen to witness the famous jumping crocodiles and visit Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve which is a paradise for waterbird-watchers on the Adelaide River flood plains.
Overnight - Kakadu.
Day 4. Kakadu.
Day at leisure to explore Kakadu National Park.
Day 5. Kakadu to Katherine.
Approx 300 km (186 miles).
An early start is recommended this morning. Continue on to the gold-mining town of Pine Creek and then on to Katherine. Hire a canoe on Katherine Gorge, listen into the world's largest classroom - School of the Air, visit Edith Falls and the mysterious Cutta Cutta Caves.
Overnight - Katherine.
Day 6. Katherine to Kununurra.
Approx 510 km (316 miles).
Depart Katherine and join the Victoria Highway to Kununurra. On the way stop at Gregory National Park where the red of the Centre blends gently with the green of the Top End. Cross the Western Australia border to Kununurra. Kununurra is the gateway to the Kimberley's from the East. It offers access to an enormous variety of unique and colourful Kimberley adventures.
Day 7. Kununurra.
Day at leisure in Kununurra. Explore Lake Ord or take a flight over he Bungle Bungles.
Day 8. Kununurra to El Questro.
Approx 100 km (162 miles).
Depart Kununurra for El Questro.
Day 9. El Questro.
Day at leisure at El Questro. Relax or take part in the resorts many activities available.
Day 10. El Questro to Imintji Camp.
Approx 405 km (251 miles).
Drive to Manning Gorge (approx 5-6 hours from El Questro) for a late afternoon swim before arriving at Imintji Camp.
Day 11. Imintji Camp.
Today is at your leisure to enjoy the Imintji Safari Camp and explore the Gibb River Road.
Day 12. Imintji Camp to Broome.
Continue to Broome. Drive via Derby and see the Prison Boab Tree before arriving in Broome for sunset.
Day 13. Broome.
Day at leisure in Broome. Relax on the beach or visit one of Broome's many attractions.
Day 14. Depart Broome.
Drop off your rental vehicle and depart Broome.
