GOLD SERVICE
The Indian Pacific is classed as one of the word's greatest trains, and what better way to enjoy your travel than with the luxury of Gold Service cabins. The Gold Service sleeping carriages on board the Indian Pacific provide quality accommodation to make your journey a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Gold Service passengers can choose from a single or twin cabin.
All cabins are air-conditioned and remain at a constant temperature throughout your journey, which takes you from the picturesque Blue Mountains across the searing red desert. Gold Service passengers can leave their cabins to relax in the Gold Service lounge, enjoy some refreshments and meet other passengers.
As a memento of your trip on this world famous train, all Gold Service passengers receive a complimentary toiletries kit. Information on the train journey such as a route map and service information can be found in your complimentary on board compendium.
RED SERVICE
Just because you are travelling on a budget doesn't mean that you need to cramp your style. Red Service seats are available on the Indian Pacific to give passengers all the comfort and freedom to enjoy their journey.
Stretch out and relax, move around, enjoy a meal, watch the Australian countryside glide past, meet new people and above all, enjoy yourself.
Red Service passengers enjoy comfortable two-abreast lounge seats. These are woollen cloth seats which recline for comfortable sleeping. There are windows next to each row of seats and these can be closed over by the passenger to block out exterior light. Individual reading lights are provided above each seat. The seats can swivel to face each other if travelling with a group or you wish to talk to other passengers.
Toilets and shower facilities are located at the end of each carriage and fresh towels are supplied by the attendant. Smoking is not permitted in Red Service carriages.
When you are hungry, a wide selection of meals and snack foods, both hot and cold, can be purchased from the Buffet Car. The Buffet Car also has a range of soft drinks, juices, and alcoholic beverages.
There is ample leg room when sitting in Red Service Seats, with fold out foot rests for your comfort. Folding tables are available for writing home or for engaging your friends in a game of cards. Video players are installed for your entertainment and information. Passenger information is broadcast through loudspeakers.
