Your journey begins in Bangkok, the Thai capital and the most visited city on the planet. Bangkok is an invigorating mix of modern wonders and old-fashioned secrets. You’re just as likely to shop for designer goods or dine at some of the world’s fanciest restaurants as you are to barter for goods in old-fashioned markets or enjoy noodles on a plastic stool next to a crowd of happy strangers on the street.
After arriving, you’ll have the rest of your day at leisure to explore on your own and adjust to the city’s scale. The next day, start your journey through its many highlights with a trip to the largest flower market in the city. Next up is the Grand Palace, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour and see Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. End your day with a visit to Wat Pho where you can take some photos in front of the Golden Reclining Buddha, the largest of its kind in the world. The next day, ride along the river in a longtail speedboat to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, where dozens of boats sell goods right from the waters of the river. After lunch, head to Sompong Thai Cooking School to learn to cook Thai dishes under the tutelage of an experienced chef.
You’ll have another day at leisure in Bangkok before flying down to Phuket in the south of Thailand. This island on the Andaman Sea is famous for its golden beaches, blue waters, and popular resorts. You’ll have three full days based at your hotel in Patong to enjoy the pleasures of this island getaway. Enjoy spa treatments, stay active with a Muay Thai lesson, spend your days snorkelling through the waters, or book an excursion to James Bond Island or other natural highlights. Shop the bazaars of Patong Beach and take advantage of the sizzling nightlife. Within the compound is the Temple of The Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), which houses Thailand most precious image of the Lord Buddha. This afternoon, we continue the tour and visit the Reclining Buddha covered in gold leaf at Wat Pho. At the end of the tour, travel back to the hotel. Important: Please note that you are required to wear proper attire (no bare shoulder, bare knees or strapless-heel shoes). Shoes must be removed before entering all temple buildings. Breakfast at the hotel. To discover the way Bangkok used to be, we depart from the hotel with our guide and driver to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. On arrival, enjoy a scenic ride on a narrow longtail-speedboat followed by a man-powered sampan ride, passing riverside villages and fruit plantations, before entering the vibrant market. Lunch at local restaurant (on own arrangement). This afternoon, we depart for Sompong Thai Cooking School, where we will learn how to cook real Thai food in a tradition Thai setting. We will learn variety of Thai ingredient as the instructor demonstrates basic and more advanced cooking techniques, and the step-by-step technicuqe of cooking the most popular Thai dishes.
