Join us for a pre-adventure trip to Slovenia. With immense natural beauty Bled, together with its surroundings, ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts. It’s renowned for its mild, healing climate and thermal lake water, the beauty of the mountains reflected on the lake, the sun, the serenity and fresh air. Highlights include Pletna, Saint Mary’s Church and Bled Castle.

We’ll walk in Triglav National Park which lies in the southeast of the Julian Alps where we’ll enjoy beautiful views over the mountains that surround Bohinj as well as see nature untouched.

Of course, the best way to experience all that this amazing place has to offer; is to see and meet its people; to take in all its amazing history, culture and beauty; you have to take it one step at a time. We invite you to “Come Walk Croatia and Slovenia with us.”


 

Day 1

Arrive Ljubljana

Upon Arrival in Slovenia, you will be met and transferred to our hotel in the beautiful city of Bled. The rest of the day is at leisure as your fellow travelers arrive.

Accommodation: Grand Hotel Toplice
Located on the lakefront, the Grand Hotel Toplice is Bled’s oldest property and offers a rich history together with a traditional style. The hotel was built originally built in 1850-1854; it was built at the location where two thermal springs had been discovered on the shores of Lake Bled in 1818. Today the hotel is considered one of Slovenia’s most renowned hotels.

Day 2

Bled and Bohinj

After breakfast, we depart for a tour of Bled with an English-speaking local guide.

With immense natural beauty Bled, together with its surroundings, ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts, and is renowned for its mild, healing climate and thermal lake water. The beauty of the mountains reflected on the lake, the sun, the serenity and the fresh air all make this a wonderful relaxing base for our experience. Highlights include Pletna, Saint Mary’s Church and Bled Castle.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we continue on to Bohinj, where upon arrival we travel via cable car to Vogel. Situated in Bohinj Commune, Vogel, located in the Triglav National Park, lies in the southeast of the Julian Alps. A cable railway from Ukanc takes us high above sea level, where we continue walking to our destination Eagle’s head. During the walk you can enjoy beautiful views over the mountains that surround Bohinj as well as seeing untouched, clear nature and flowers… afterwards, we return via cable car to Bohinj before heading back to Bled, via the medieval village of Radovljica, where we enjoy a short walk. Above the confluence of the Sava Bohinjka and the Sava Dolinka stands the town of Radovljica, with its many historic sites. These include the Church of St. Peter with the vicarage, the manor with the apicultural museum, Šivec house and the only preserved defence shaft in Slovenia. The town is also the birthplace of the father of Slovenian theatre – Anton Tomaž Linhart who was born here in 1756.

After our arrival back in Bled, dinner tonight is at the hotel.

Day 3

Soca Valley

This morning we are off to the Soča Valley. Deeply carved into the white limestone of the magnificent Julian Alps is the Soca Valley. It is a valley of wonderful colours, full of waterfalls, pools, ravines and canyons, with its own distinct flora and fauna. The impossibly blue-green Soca River flows over white gravel and through this fairy-tale valley.

We take a walk to Boka waterfall. In this area of the Slovenian Alps and the valley of the Soča river enjoy the beautiful sights of emerald-green Soča waters and breath-taking vistas of mountain peaks. Lunch is at a local restaurant and this is followed by some free time before we return to Bled.

Later this evening we will go for dinner at one of the local restaurants.

Day 4

Bled to Zagreb

Today we depart Bled and Slovenia for Croatia and the capital city of Zagreb where we meet the newly arriving main adventure guests.
