Best Time to Visit Ethiopia
Because of its altitude above sea level, although a tropical country, Ethiopia has a moderate climate. Addis Ababa has pleasant hot days and cool evenings. The best time to visit is between October and June when it is the dry season. From June to September, you will sometimes experience fairly heavy rain with July and August being the wettest. However, the rains come in short sharp storms. By October, everything is lush and green. The exception to the moderate climate is in the lowlands where, in the summer, it will be extremely hot. The peak season for tourism is from the end of September until January. This is when you can expect moderate temperatures, blue skies and dry weather. Wildlife viewing can be done all year round.
