Best Time to Visit Jordan

The best time to be in Jordan depends on where you visit although generally speaking if covering the whole country, March to May is the best time. Because 90% of the country is covered by desert, high temperatures can be expected. However, as can be the case with deserts, the nights can be cold. There is rarely rain between June and August and the temperature can be scorching, the hottest places being Aqaba and the Dead Sea. Amman is also hot in the summer months although it experiences dry heat and is rarely uncomfortable. Wadi Rum can be really cold in the winter as can Amman between December and February. Amman can be especially cold in January and February and snow is not uncommon. For diving in Aqaba, the best time is September, October and early November, when the water is warm and the marine life is abundant. Humidity, at all times, is not high in Jordan being generally a desert country. Fall takes place between mid-September and mid-November and is a nice time to visit with some rain beginning in mid-October.
