Philippines Weather
The weather in the Philippines is greatly determined by the monsoon seasons. The southwest monsoon runs from May to October while the northeast monsoon runs from November to early May. The majority of the country is dry during the northeast monsoon while the wet season starts in June but peaks from July to September. Some parts of the country experience the opposite of this, ie the eastern seaboard experiences the rainy season from December to March.
The average year-round temperature is 26.6˚C (79.9˚F) with the warmest days tending to be in May averaging 28.3˚C (82.9˚F). The humidity levels in the Philippines are very high and the high amount of moisture in the air makes hot days feel even hotter. The coolest, least humid months are January and February. Elevation also plays a factor in temperatures as the higher above sea level one travels, the cooler it gets.
