  • Scenic underwater shot
  • Ometepe Island Volcano on Lake Nicaragua
  • Extensive valley near Managua

While the weather of Nicaragua differs depending on the region, the climate is, for the most part, tropical. In the lowlands, temperatures can reach 30˚C (86˚F) during the day and can even get as high as 38˚C (100˚F) in May. Central Nicaragua experiences temperatures that are generally around 5 degrees cooler than the lowlands and the mountains are also naturally cooler.

Most of the country experiences the following seasons, a dry season from December to May and a rainy season from June to November. The Pacific coast however experiences a dry season from November to April and the rainy season is from May to November. The rainiest months on the Pacific side are September and October.
