Best Time to Visit Lithuania

The climate in Lithuania is of continental type inland and more maritime along the Baltic coast. The best time to visit Lithuania is in late spring or the summer when the weather is at its warmest. However, the only thing that is predictable about the climate here is that the winter is consistently cold. In the other seasons, the weather can be very changeable. Summers are relatively short (approximately mid-June to late August), and although it can be hot and dry, showers and chilly nights are quite possible. Temperatures cool down rapidly from mid-September onwards, although the fall can be an exceptionally beautiful season in which to visit. The first snowfalls can come as early as mid-November and by early to mid-December winter sets in. When the spring thaw arrives, the countryside can remain grey and barren until well into April when a sudden explosion of colour transforms the landscape.
