Best Time to Visit Malta

Malta has an average of 300 days of sunshine annually. It is an all-year-round destination with no extremes of temperature. In the summer, sea breezes prevent the heat from being unbearable. At this time of year, it is dry and hot. In the winter, it is mild and there can be some rain although November and December receive the most rainfall. The months of July and August are the peak tourist season. For a combination of good weather and fewer crowds, September and October are perfect. In the winter, many tourist facilities close down including the diving sites on Gozo. Many local businesses take vacation in mid-August including some restaurants. Shops in Malta usually close on Sundays and all public holidays.
