Slovene is the official language of Slovenia. Hungarian and Italian are also spoken in some parts of the country.

What currency is used in Slovenia?

Euro (EUR) is the main currency used in Slovenia. Visa credit cards are also accepted however it is recommended to call ahead and advise the credit card company of travel plans to avoid hassle while on vacation.

Do I need a visa to travel to Slovenia?

Canadian and American citizens do not require a visa for stays up to 90 days.

When is the best time to travel to Slovenia?

Slovenia is not necessarily as popular as it's neighbouring Mediterranean countries so planning a trip in the summer months is a wonderful idea. The weather is warm and pleasant and many tourists are able to take advantage of this. Visiting popular attractions, landmarks and towns is easy as crowds are limited.

How is the transportation within Slovenia?

Buses and trains are the most common way of travelling around Slovenia. Clients can also partake in an escorted tour or do a self-drive for a more independent way of travelling. In order to drive in Slovenia, North American visitors must possess an international driver's license. Driving is done on the right side of the road in Slovenia. Uber transportation services are not available anywhere in Slovenia. 

Is Slovenia a family friendly destination?

Slovenia is not a common vacation spot among families as it is not as popular as some other destinations in Europe. However, families who do choose to visit Slovenia will still have a memorable time as the country has an abundance of natural landmarks and attractions to be enjoyed by everyone.
