Sweden Weather
Three distinct areas can characterize the climate of Sweden: Götaland in the south, Svealand in the middle, and Norrland in the north. In Götaland, the winter months tend to be shorter and milder than in other parts of the country. Snow is also rare at this time of the year in Götaland. During the summer months, average temperatures range from 15-25˚C.
Svealand enjoys a climate that is only marginally cooler than Götaland. Snowfall is more common here during the winter, but temperatures are normally only just below 0˚C. In Norrland, winters experience sub-zero temperatures with much more snow than in other parts of the country. There is not a large population in this part of Sweden; this is probably a result of the long winters. Summers in Norrland tend to be short but enjoy an average temperature of around 15˚C.
