Canada Travel Introduction

  • Parliament Hill in Ottawa

As one of the largest countries in the world, Canada is a treasure trove of unique landscapes and unparalleled encounters with nature. In the west, the sparkling coastline of British Columbia is bordered by rainforests and mysterious islands where whales twirl beneath the water’s surface. Breathtaking views of the Canadian Rockies reflect off the turquoise waters of Lake Louise, just down the road from the town of Banff. In the east, rolling cliffs are marked by lighthouses and traditional fishing towns where lobster reigns supreme.

Canada’s urban centres are distinctly cosmopolitan, offering up international cuisine and diverse artistic influences in cities like Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Halifax. One-of-a-kind festivals put Canada’s unique cultural heritages on display, including the summer Calgary Stampede and the Winter Carnival in Quebec City. French-Canadian flair can be found across Quebec, distinct for its hearty cuisine, sugar shacks, and European influences.

Despite being a relatively young country, Canada’s history stretches back thousands of years when Indigenous tribes lived in harmony with the land, forging their own ways of life through the ice and snow. Their rich cultures are still thriving today, particularly in the nation’s northern territories which are deeply rooted in Inuit traditions.
