This 10-day East African vacation takes you to luxury game lodges in the world-famous national parks in Kenya and Tanzania. It features deluxe accommodations and small group tours, and is a great first safari for high-end travellers.
Your African safari begins in Arusha, the Tanzanian gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro and the Serengeti. Your first safari stop is Tarangire National Park, to the southeast of Lake Manyara, where you’ll stay at Sanctuary Swala Camp. Going forward, you’ll enjoy Sanctuary’s luxury safari camps at each park you visit. These tasteful properties blend into their natural surroundings and offer incomparable service and unfettered access to East Africa’s beautiful wilderness. You’ll spend two nights in the camp and head on game drives in the morning and afternoon to spot large herds of elephants crossing the plains, zebras drinking from the rivers, and might baobab trees rising along the horizon.
Drive into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, located in the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera. The crater is home to an astounding density of animals. Staying at Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp, you’ll explore the caldera on a full day of game drives and have time at leisure to relax back at camp and enjoy its many amenities. Transfer to Lake Manyara and fly northwest to Serengeti National Park, the world’s most famous game reserve. Staying at Sanctuary Kichakani Camp, you’ll head on further safari game drives to see the incredible number of animals within the park limits, from fearless lions to bounding antelope and mighty elephants and rhinos.
Fly across the border into Kenya and connect to the Masai Mara and your luxury accommodations at Sanctuary Olonana Camp. Enjoy a full day in the Masai Mara heading on morning and afternoon game drives to search for the Big Five and perhaps witness a bit of the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra that pass through the park late each July through October.
At the end of your time in the Masai Mara, connect to Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, where you’ll enjoy a farewell lunch and head to the airport for onward travels.

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Arusha Airport in time for your light aircraft transfer to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp in time for lunch. This afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the park until dusk.

The only camp in this remote corner of the Tarangire National Park - one of the most exciting yet least visited parks in Tanzania - Sanctuary Swala offers total seclusion in a shady copse of giant acacia trees, looking out to the flat savannah beyond. The picturesque landscape is filled with ancient baobabs, passing elephants, and birds in flight - the classic safari-scape of your imagination. Swala is Swahili for impala, which are plentiful in these parts, as are kudu, giraffes, buffalos, lions, cheetahs and leopards.
Twelve luxurious canvas pavilions surround the main dining and lounge areas. Each tent has its own personal attendant to cater to your every need, including serving cocktails on your private veranda. The pavilions are open plan, with both indoor and outdoor showers. The peaceful common areas are lifted on stilts, and decorated in a contemporary African style.Facilities

Tarangire National Park
Spend the day exploring Tarangire National Park with morning and afternoon game drives.
Tarangire is Tanzania's third largest national park and a sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are another interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area.

Ngorongoro Crater
This morning, descend to the crater floor in your 4x4 vehicle for a half day crater tour. The central bowl, the caldera, has sides roughly 1,950 feet high and a flattish centre with a diameter of about ten miles. The crater walls are forested but four-wheel drive vehicles will take you down into this primeval paradise of woodland, lake, river, swamp and plains that shelter around 20,000 animals.

After breakfast, transfer to Manyara Airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp for check in followed by lunch. This afternoon, head out on your first game drive in the Serengeti National Park, which is unequalled for its natural beauty and the greatest concentration of plains game anywhere.

After an early breakfast at your camp this morning, transfer to the airstrip in time for your onward light aircraft Tarime Airstrip, where you will be met and transferred to the Isabenia Border for customs and immigration formalities. Transfer to Migori Airstrip for your flight to Masai Mara where you are met and transferred to your camp. Time permitting, this afternoon head out on your first game drive in this famous reserve.
