Explore Southern Africa Women's Tour

Duration
11 Days
Prices From:
AU$ 7,759

Experience the best of Southern Africa on this women-only tour. Head on game
drives in open vehicles on a safari at Kapama Private Game Reserve. Next, it's off to Cape Town, where you explore the peninsula and winelands. Lastly head up to Victoria Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world.

This 11-day, first-class small group tour reveals the treasures of Southern Africa. Exclusively for female travellers, it begins in Johannesburg, transferring to the Kapama Private Game Reserve, and explores the best of South Africa before flying on to Victoria Falls.

Located between Kruger National Park and the Blyde River Canyon, Kapama Private Game Reserve is one of South Africa’s best locations to see and interact with elephants. Lions, white rhinos, buffalo, and giraffes are also frequently sighted here, along with an estimated 350 species of birds. Three nights here with included game drives gives you ample opportunity for some terrific wildlife sightings.

Fly on to Cape Town, the so-called ‘Mother City’ of South Africa. Watched over by the incomparable Table Mountain, Cape Town is a city rich with Malay history, as you’ll discover on a unique Cape Malay Cooking Safari. Track down the unique flavours and culinary traditions of eccentric and colourful Bo-Kaap, taking a guided walking tour followed by a cooking workshop and demonstration. In the afternoon, the tour continues to Table Mountain, where your cable car ticket is included. Conclude the day with dinner at the magnificent GOLD Restaurant, which combines the best pan-African cuisine and entertainment.

Spend the next two days exploring the surrounds of Cape Town, including Boulder’s Beach, the Cape of Good Hope, and Simon’s Town, before driving on for a day in the Cape Winelands. In Stellenbosch, you’ll have the option to cycle your way between the wineries (or take the coach, nobody’s judging).

The last stop on your adventure is majestic Victoria Falls, the world’s widest sheet of falling water. Begin with a cruise on the Zambezi in a modern catamaran, and spend the next day exploring the best viewing points and natural highlights of this world wonder and its surrounds. Your final full day is spent relaxing, with the option of booking additional excursions if you desire before your return flight to Johannesburg.

Day 5

Cape Town

Today is all about exploring Cape Town. This morning, head out on your Cape Malay Cooking Safari. Perched on the slopes of Signal Hill, overlooking Table Bay, the Bo-Kaap is as idiosyncratically 'Cape' as the spicy scents and flavours that waft downhill from its eccentrically colourful cobbled streets. Walking through the historic Malay quarter of Cape Town shows visitors its nooks and crannies, and its legends and secrets, as the group discovers the distinctive cuisine of the Cape Malay community. The Andulela Cape Malay Cooking Safari includes a guided walking tour of the historical heart of the Bo-Kaap, a visit to the Bo-Kaap Museum, a cooking workshop and demonstration, full course traditional meal and a small gift.

This afternoon, the tour continues with a stop at Table Mountain. Without a doubt it is Table Mountain that makes Cape Town the unique city it is. Rising up over 1000m above sea level, it is the icon that makes Cape Town instantly recognizable. A visit to the city isn't complete without having walked or taken the cable car to the top (Cable car ticket included).

After some time at the hotel to freshen up, transfer to GOLD Restaurant in time for dinner. GOLD Restaurant is a vibrant pan-African experience offering a set Cape Malay and African menu, together with live entertainment and djembe drumming 7 nights a week. Operating from an old warehouse building and a modern function venue, GOLD offers visitors a sophisticated African experience.
