Your journey begins in Richards Bay, where you’ll transfer to Rhino Sands Safari Camp along the Msunduzi River of Manyoni Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal. This 5-star safari lodge offers four entirely luxury canvas tents nestled in the riverine forest along the edge of a peninsula with spectacular views of the Msunduze riverbed. Enjoy two full days of morning and afternoon game drives searching for the incredible wildlife within the reserve, with a good chance of spotting the Big Five and several species of antelopes and birds.
Venture to Umhlanga on the coast, not far north of Durban. Staying at an iconic hotel on the beachfront, you’ll enjoy a full day in the heart of the Umhlanga Rocks. Spend your time swimming in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean or exploring the cultural highlights near this resort town. After recharging at the beach in Umhlanga, you’ll connect onward to the Greater Makalali Private Game Reserve. Enjoy a luxury en-suite tent, private outdoor deck and hammock, swimming pool, and dining facilities within a unique natural atmosphere committed to sustainable safari experiences. Spend two full days heading on morning and afternoon game drives in the park, following the trail of lions, spotting elephants cooling off in the shade, and keeping your eyes on the air to spot some of the colourful birds living in the reserve. Richards Bay to Rhino Sands Safari Camp
Upon arrival at Richards Bay Airport, you will be met and transferred to Rhino Sands Safari Camp. This afternoon, depart on an afternoon game drive in the reserve (time permitting). Your ranger is your host for the duration of your stay and they will take care of your every need whilst sharing their intimate knowledge of the wild. Sipping sundowners under an African sky somehow 'finishes off' the whole day's experience.

Rhino Sands Safari Camp
Up at dawn for your early morning game drive! Of course, the less energetic are welcome to sleep late! Search out a multitude of animals including lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard and cheetah, together with a wealth of antelope and birds interacting in their natural environment. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast, relax or talk with your ranger and mingle with the guests. Your afternoon game drive takes you well into the evening. Return to your lodge for another sumptuous dinner.
