Cebu Island is 225 kilometres/140 miles in length north to south. It is made up of rolling hills and rugged mountain ranges. Cebu City is the second largest city in the Philippines and is a centre for commerce and industry. It is also the oldest city in the Philippines with much history.
During your stay, you will start with a city tour which takes in Magellan’s Cross housed in a chapel and planted there by Portuguese and Spanish explorers, the Basilica Minore del Santo Nino founded in the 16th Century and the oldest Roman Catholic Church in the country, Fort San Pedro built in 1738, a Spanish outpost where two sides face the sea and Casa Gorordo, a well preserved Spanish Colonial mansion with pleasant gardens. There will also be time to visit the Taoist Temple giving a unique look at the Chinese heritage .in the Philippines and to cross over the bridge to the small island of Mactan with its upscale hotels and good beaches.
The next day takes you to the neighbouring island of Bohol directly east of Cebu. Bohol has a mountainous interior which is home to rare flora and fauna including the Tarsiers, one of the world’s smallest primates. You will have a countryside tour which will include lunch on a river barge. A highlight in Bohol is the Chocolate Hills so-called because although covered in green grass, at dry times of the year they turn brown. There are between 1250 and 1750 of these strange looking hills covering a wide area, Return to Cebu in the late afternoon.

Cebu City Tour ex. Mactan Resort
Today, you will embark on a historical tour of the Philippines oldest city: Cebu. Visit Magellan's Cross, planted in 1565, Basilica Minore del Santo Nino, which dates back to 1565, and Fort San Pedro, the oldest triangular fortress in the country. Afterwards you will view the former house of Cebu's first Bishop, Casa Gorordo. See uptown Cebu with the Taoist Temple, which provides stunning views of Cebu City and Mactan. Today, you will embark in the early morning on a lovely full-day tour to the nearby island of Bohol, where you will enjoy a beautiful showcase of history, culture and nature. This countryside tour that includes lunch on a river barge through the jungle and a visit to see tarsiers, one of the world's smallest primates. You will also see the famous Chocolate Hills; 1,268 incredible cone-shaped hills complete with hundreds of limestone karsts. Return to your hotel late in the afternoon. Lunch is included.
