Flying with award-winning Qantas Airways, head to Australia to visit three of its greatest landmarks. Start in Sydney and see the Sydney Opera House and the beautiful harbour before watching the sunset over Uluru/Ayers Rock and cruising the Great Barrier Reef off Cairns.
This 10-day Australian vacation takes you to Sydney, Uluru/Ayers Rock, and the Great Barrier Reef. It features international airfare with Qantas Airway, economy, moderate, and first-class accommodations depending on preference, and makes for an unforgettable introduction to Australia.
Your journey begins with a flight across the Pacific Ocean with Qantas Airways. Arrive in diverse and historic Sydney, which greets you with its sparkling harbour, iconic Harbour Bridge, and the unforgettable Sydney Opera House. Your included ferry ticket allows you to enjoy all three, including entry to Taronga Zoo, where you can say ‘G’day’ to kangaroos, koalas, and other natives as well as many international guests. Your guided tour of The Rocks area offers a fascinating insight into Australia’s convict past, while an afternoon tour takes you to the Botanical Gardens and famous Bondi Beach for a more modern slice of Sydney.
Next up is Uluru/Ayers Rock, the ultimate icon of the Australian Outback. Over 300km from the nearest large town, Alice Springs, Uluru is shrouded in myth and legend and is a sacred place to the Anangu, the local Aboriginal people. A sunrise tour of this spectacular monolith is sure to be a highlight of your journey. Also included is a visit to another geological wonder, Kata Tjuta, commonly known as The Olgas.
Finally, head to tropical Cairns, which offers a dazzling array of wildlife amid lush forest surrounds. You’ll visit the Great Barrier Reef for a close encounter with the abundant sea life of the world’s largest coral reef and the largest living structure in the world. Your full day tour of nearby Kuranda and the surrounding rainforest includes one of Australia’s most scenic rail journeys, an Aboriginal dance performance, and a trip on the Skyrail for a bird’s eye view over the forest.
At the end of your stay, connect back to North America with Qantas, or extend your stay in Australia to see all that Downunder has to offer.
