MODERATE | TAILOR-MADE: Discover the history and culture of Peru’s capital on this 4-day vacation. Tour the city centre, seeing the coastal neighbourhoods as well as the colonial landmarks of Lima. See the world’s greatest collection of pre-Columbian artifacts at the Larco Museum, and later enjoy a lovely pre-fixe dinner while taking in views of the Pacific Ocean.

This 4-day Peruvian vacation showcases the capital city of Lima, one of the world’s great food cities and a centre of historical and cultural monuments. It features first-class accommodations and private tours.

Your trip to Peru takes you in and around Lima to get a taste for the capital’s culinary highlights and historical heritage. Begin with a city tour through the trendy districts of Miraflores and San Isidro on the coast. Swing by pre-Incan pyramids and follow the coastal cliffs to admire views over the Pacific Ocean before you head north to Lima District, the administrative centre of the nation. Explore the Plaza de Armas, where you’ll find the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral, and colonial mansions dating back to the founding of Peru. Continue to Aliaga Masion, the home of Conquistador Jeronimo de Aliaga, one of Pizarro’s most trusted lieutenants.

The next day, visit the Larco Museum, arguably home to the world’s greatest collection of pre-Columbian artifacts. Tour the collection and enjoy insight into the Moche people, who lived in Peru in the days before the Incas, as well as the museum’s cheeky erotic collection. Cap off the day with dinner at Cala Restaurant, where you’ll dine on a delicious meal that embodies Peru’s famous fusion cuisine, all the while enjoying views over the ocean.

At the end of your stay, connect back to the airport for onward travels.

Half Day Larco and Archaeological Museums

Visit the Larco Herrera Museum, an 18th century colonial-style museum housing the largest and most impressive ceramic collection in the world, with about 55,000 pre-Colombian clay pots on display. The collection concentrates on the refined ceramics of the Moche Dynasty, the people who lived along the northern coast of Peru between 200 and 700 AD.
