DELUXE | PRIVATE-GUIDED: Experience luxury and adventure on this journey along the Amazon and through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Start in Iquitos, where you’ll cruise along the Amazon aboard the luxurious Aria Amazon, then head to the Sacred Valley to explore its Incan ruins while staying at the Explora lodge.

This 11-day Peruvian vacation takes you along the Amazon River and through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It features luxury accommodations, shared tours, and is perfect for discerning travellers who want an adventure without sacrificing comfort.

Your Peru tour begins in Lima, where you’ll receive a VIP Welcome Kit upon arrival. After a night in the four-star hotel in the airport, you’ll fly north to Iquitos, the country’s gateway to the Amazon. Spend half a day touring the city, seeing the market of Belen and the stilt houses lining the Itaya River. At 6pm, board the Aria Amazon, your home for the next few days exploring the Amazon. This 5-star river vessel has 16 spacious cabins and accommodates a maximum of 32 guests, meaning you’ll receive personalized service and the utmost attention to detail while aboard. Its on-board restaurant serves meal designed by renowned chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino and its lounge features an open-air Jacuzzi overlooking the river.

You’ll spend three full days aboard the Aria Amazon as you venture down the river and explore the jungle. On your first day, spot sloths, hawks, and songbirds as you head towards the Yarapa River. Go fishing for piranhas and head on a wildlife excursion onto the black waters of Nauta Cano. The next day, rise early to spot birds at dawn along the Maranon River. Continue into the firm soil forest to see poison dart frogs and trees used medicinally by the local tribes. Reach Yanayacu-Pucate River and go for a swim along the pink river dolphins that may pay you a visit. In the evening, gaze upon constellations and planets through the on-board telescope. On your final day, visit a local market and meet local Amazonian fishermen before visiting the Manatee Rescue Center to learn about rehabilitation efforts for these marine mammals. Say goodbye to the Amazon Aria and visit the San Juan craft market before flying back to Lima.

After another night in the airport hotel, fly to Cusco and connect to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and explora Sacred Valley. explora Sacred Valley is built around the natural environment and prizes silence and privacy within this gorgeous setting. Accommodations are all inclusive and the on-site guides and experts will ensure you have full access to the many wonders of the Sacred Valley. At the end of each day of adventure, return to the lodge to feast on delicious gourmet meals and relax in the bath house. Then retire to your room to rest and be refreshed without any intrusion from the outside world.

You’ll have a full day of leisure in the Sacred Valley. You can visit the Andean markets of Chinchero or venture to Ollantaytambo to explore the ruins of the Incan fortress that lie on the mountainside. Another day, you’ll head on a guided tour of two key sites in the Sacred Valley: the agricultural terraces of Moray and the salt pans of Maras. Marvel at the perfect concentric terraces of Moray and learn about the advanced agricultural methods of the Incas. At Maras, walk along the salt pans where Andean villagers gather salt right on the edge of the mountain and be amazed at the stark whiteness of these ancient terraces. You’ll then ride the Vistadome Train to Aguas Calientes and have the option of visiting Machu Picchu, the spectacular Incan citadel pitched on a mountaintop in the heart of the Sacred Valley. After exploring this eternal icon, where the past comes alive with each step through the ruins, spend the night in Aguas Calientes and return to Ollantaytambo and connect to Cusco. After a night in Cusco, return to Lima and connect back home.
