FIRST-CLASS | TAILOR-MADE: Venture to three of Germany’s most famous cities on this first-class independent tour. Start in Frankfurt where you’ll see a blend of Germany’s past and present before exploring trendy Berlin and nearby Potsdam and finishing your vacation in Munich, the gorgeous Bavarian capital.

This 8-day German vacation takes you to Frankfurt, Berlin, and Munich. It includes both moderate and first-class accommodations, shared tours, and is perfect for first-time visitors to Germany.

Your trip to Germany begins in Frankfurt, home to the massive international airport and Germany’s financial industry. In addition to being one of Germany’s commercial cornerstones, Frankfurt is a fascinating blend of modern and tradition. A Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour lets you zip around the city to see the most popular landmarks. In particular, see the half-timbered wooden homes of the Romerberg and Paulskirche, tour the Old Opera House, and stroll down pedestrian-only Fressgass to buy snacks at the collection of butcher shops and delicatessens lining the street. Also be sure to swing by the skyscraper district to see the glimmering towers that house the city’s big banks.

From Frankfurt, head northwest to Berlin, the nation’s capital and one of the coolest cities on the planet. In the past, Berlin was the image of Prussian austerity, but today, it’s one of the trendiest cities in the world, with a nightlife and art scene that’s second-to-none. The grand circle bus tour will showcase some of the best historical sites like Brandenburg Gate, Potsdam Square, Checkpoint Charlie, and the remnants of the Berlin Wall. Also be sure to take advantage of the city’s incredible shopping scene at the KaDeWe department store or The Q shopping centre. While in Berlin, you’ll have the chance to tour the city like a royal as you ride around the old town in the back of a limo. You’ll also take a day to visit nearby Sanssouci Palace, the former home of Friedrich II and Germany’s answer to Versailles.

The final stop on your tour of Germany is Munich, the capital of Bavaria and Germany’s third-largest city. Despite Munich’s size, you’ll find the city very walkable with a small-town atmosphere. Use the Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour to see the sights that most interest you. Tour the medieval square of Marienplatz to get a taste of the city’s architecture heritage or stroll down Maximilianstrasse to hit up its boutique stores. Take in one of its world famous museums, including the Deutsches Museum, the oldest and largest science museum in the world. Also be sure to try some famous Bavarian cuisine such as bratwurst while you’re in town. At the end of your stay, head to the airport to continue your onward journey.
