Then, head to the Tuscan countryside to Siena and San Gimignano and end with a special Tuscan dinner in Chianti.

This 4-day Italy vacation showcases Florence and the surrounding highlights of Tuscany.

Your trip to Italy begins in Florence, the Tuscan capital and the birthplace of the Renaissance. Wander around the old city squares to admire the gorgeous architecture and dine on Tuscan cuisine, known for its fresh ingredients, bright colours, and wonderful flavours. During your time in Florence, you’ll head on a walking tour through the heart of the city to learn about the architecture and the history of the Medici family, which ruled Florence in the Renaissance and commissioned most of its artistic masterpieces. During your walking tour, you’ll see the Piazza della Signoria, the town hall Palazzo Vecchio, Brunelleschi’s famous Duomo, and Pontevecchio Bridge. Most significantly, you’ll visit the Accademia Gallery to see Michelangelo’s “David.”

That evening, head onto the waters of the Arno River to see the city from a unique vantage point. Cruise along the river in a traditional barchetto and pass under old bridges, alongside beautiful palaces, and enjoy the romance of the calm waters. Cap off your evening with a glass of wine and an incredible view of the sunset. The next day, leave Florence to explore the towns of Siena and San Gimignano, strolling through their medieval town squares, before feasting on Tuscan cuisine at a boutique winery in the Chianti countryside.

This Florence city break is a great addition to a longer Italy vacation.

VIP Sunset Boat Tour with Aperitif on Arno

The most charming experience in Florence. The most unique perspective on the city. The tour that even Florentines fall in love with. A small-group romantic and relaxed boat ride followed by an exclusive aperitivo. An old Italian song goes "on the silvery Arno river the stars look at themselves, reflecting as in a mirror". The Arno river is the history of Florence. It was its first supply source. It first divided the city. It then united it through marvelous Middle Ages and Renaissance bridges. Its riverbanks house some of the most beautiful ancient noble palaces. Nowadays it perfectly reflects the romantic, elegant, slow flowing soul of Florence. This small-group tour will let you discover this soul in the most picture-perfect moment of the day: at aperitivo time, right before dinner, right before sunset, where Florence is flooded by the most magic light, and even the cold stones seem soft and warm, with an enchanting yellow finish that distinguishes the city. Meet your guide and then enjoy a nice short walk through Piazza Signoria and under the Uffizi Gallery, seeing the Pontevecchio (old bridge) from the bank, all the way through to the "embarcadero". Get aboard the "barchetto", the Florenctine Gondola, one of the very few traditional wooden boats left in Florence, conducted by a "barcaiolo", a true florentine tradition holder that will guide the boat with his long-reaching pole. No noisy engines, only the charm of tradition and the voice of your expert guide to unveil the secrets of the Arno river, as you stroll on its calm waters, pass under the magnificent florentine bridges and discover its history and the beautiful Palazzos that frame its ancient riverbed. You will then enjoy a refreshing "aperitivo" with a glass of cool wine, to celebrate on board your romantic stay in Florence!

Day 3

Siena and San Gimignano

An unforgettable day in enchanting Tuscany. Siena is a Gothic treasure, a maze of narrow streets sided by seven centuries old buildings, a city moulded by the great sculptors of the Cathedral, still showing the colourful banners of the Contrades which twice a year compete against each other in a historical horse race known as the palio which takes place on the unforgettable Piazza del Campo. San Gimignano shows its proud towers in the middle of a fertile countryside crossed by vineyards, olive-trees and wheat fields where we'll spend the day among the true colours and flavours of Tuscany.
