Your trip to Spain explores Madrid, the Spanish capital and one of the few cities in the world that truly deserves the label “vibrant.” In the past, the city was home to royalty and artists, and today it remains home to some of the best nightclubs, bars, and restaurants the world over. During your time in Madrid, you’ll head on a walking tour through the city’s core to explore the legacy of the Hapsburg Dynasty. After admiring some of the many gorgeous Renaissance buildings in Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa, you’ll head to the famous Prado Museum to skip the line and gaze upon Spanish masterworks by Bosch, Goya, and El Greco. The next day, head on a full day tour to Toledo, the former Spanish capital and the City of the Three Cultures, where Jewish, Muslim, and Christian citizens have coexisted for centuries. You’ll see gorgeous buildings like the Primate Cathedral, Santa Maria la Blanca Synagogue, and Cristo de la Luz Mosque. On your way back to Madrid, stop by a winery to indulge in some Spanish vintages. At the end of your stay in Madrid, head to the airport to continue your onward journey.

Hapsburgs Madrid Walking Tour and Prado Museum
On this small group walking tour you will discover the most emblematic buildings from the Renaissance and Baroque period of Madrid. Habsburg is the name given to Madrid when the Habsburg dynasty reigned in Spain. This reign began with Charles I, who enriched the city with palaces and monuments. Later on, Philip II made it the capital of Spain and the city grew dramatically. The journey through the Renaissance and Baroque style buildings of this era is perhaps one of the most picturesque and representative of Madrid. The Prado National Museum, opened to the public in November 1819. Your visit will take place in chronological order admiring such masterpieces by J. Bosch (1450-1516), Greco (1540-1640). Valequez (1599-1600) and Goya (1746-1828). Enjoy skip the line entrance at the Prado and feel free to stay on your own until closing time!

Toledo Full Day Tour
On this tour you will visit Toledo, a treasure house of great artistic beauty and the former capital of the country. This magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site contains examples of architecture from different periods and cultures such as Arab, Jewish and Catholic. This tour visits the Primate Cathedral, Santo Tome Church (the Burial of the Count of Orgaz, one of El Greco's masterpieces), Santa Maria La Blanca Synagogue, San Juan De Los Reyes Church and Cristo De La Luz Mosque. You will also see works made using the damascene technique (precious metals inlaid in steel), part of the city's rich artisanal tradition.
