Italian Deluxe: Rome, Florence and Amalfi

Duration
10 Days
Prices From:
AU$ 7,661

DELUXE | PRIVATE: Stay in luxurious hotels and enjoy unique privately guided and small group experiences in Rome, Florence and Sorrento. Enter the Vatican Museums before the crowds, get up close and personal with Michalangelo's David and dine under the stars in Chianti. Then, relax in the Amalfi Coast for an unforgettable experience.

This 10-day trip through central Italy begins in the Eternal City, Rome, taking you to historic Flornce and the beautiful Amalfi Coast before you depart.

Spend three nights in Rome, staying in 5-star luxury near the Roman Forum. Start things off on the right foot with a guided private walking tour. Lasting three hours, this takes you to the best sights of the central city, while helping you get your bearings for an afternoon exploring on your own. Spend some more time in town, or explore the Colosseum and Roman Forum, both located close to your hotel. Save the Vatican for the following day, where you’ll enjoy early entrance privileges! An exclusive small group tour takes you through its famous museums a full hour before the general public. It’s worth the early wake-up, we promise, and you can take the afternoon to relax, or explore more of Rome’s countless attractions.

Your next day takes you to Florence, with no sightseeing scheduled, so feel free to explore a bit more at leisure if you like. A walk through this incredible city of art and innovation gets you acquainted with its icons, none more famous than Michelangelo’s David. Learn all about the Medicis and dive into the history of the Renaissance while getting the inside scoop on Florence’s best sights, including entrance to the famed Accademia Gallery. Again, you’ll have the afternoon to explore on your own, with plenty to see and experience in Florence. But Florence is far from the only beautiful city to see in Tuscany. A private VIP tour takes you to Siena and San Gimignano, sampling specialties from the Tuscan countryside.

Time to head south to gritty Naples, and a private tour of the Pompeii ruins. You’ll spend your last three Italian nights in beautiful Sorrento, enjoying a day trip to the island of Capri and the famous Blue Grotto. Then spend a day at leisure exploring all Sorrento has to offer, or enquire about additional day trips you can take along the sparkling Amalfi Coast before your return to Naples Airport or train station.

Day 5

Walk in Florence + Meet David

A pleasant walk in Florence is just what you need to be introduced to the city and its splendor and secular heritage! Get the chance to have a taste of one of the most important and charming cities of UNESCO World Heritage. Walk through the amazing center of Florence and discover its unique secular heritage and breathtaking beauty with an expert and fun tour guide. Our tour explores the historic and architectural evolution factors from the Roman foundation through medieval centuries and its Renaissance glorious period up to modern time Florence. Learn about the Medici: masters of Florence. The Medici family rose to become famous and revered throughout the Western world in the 14th and 15th Century. The Medici came to power at a time of great social and economic inequality. They were great disrupters. Their banking practices led to the creation of a middle class, making them unimaginably wealthy. The Medici in turn used their vast power and resources to challenge traditional thinking, ushering in a new era of revolutionary art and science such as the world had never seen: the Renaissance. It's a powerful story that resonates even now. Our professional guide will take you to some of the most important spots where the greatest minds and artists have stood and been inspired. During this walk, you will see Piazza della Signoria with the town hall Palazzo Vecchio, the Duomo, the Baptistery with its 'Gates of Paradise', Giotto's independent bell tower, Brunelleschi's Dome, Santa Trinita and Orsanmichele Church, Pontevecchio Bridge and the secret Vasari Corridor, as well as famous shopping streets and the Oltrarno -- the fourth and last district, the manual crafts neighbourhood. Also, stop for a surprise "tasting", a nice and delicious break during your pleasant walk.
Tour also includes the visit to Accademia Gallery
