Northern Gems: Split to Split

Duration
8 Days
Prices From:
AU$ 2,470

If you are looking for everything Croatia has to offer this is the perfect route for you, combining the best of Croatia's nature and culture. During the day you can swim, snorkel, sunbathe, and explore the Adriatic coast. The evenings are at leisure to find a good restaurant, historical sights, and monuments on land.

This 8-day round-trip cruise departs from Split, home of the legendary Diocletan’s Palace. Board your vessel in the afternoon and set sail for Trogir. Often called a mini-Venice or a mini-Dubrovnik, this beautiful Dalmatian town lets you bask in UNESCO heritage listed beauty without feeling (or contributing to) the tourist crush of those cities.

The following day, visit Sebenik, an essential part of Croatia’s coast where you’ll enjoy a guided tour, with time to explore the old town. Then head to Krka Waterfalls National Park, stopping in to try some local wine en route. This series of 17 falls creates one of the country’s most beautiful natural wonders, though it faces stiff competition from your next stop. Komati National Park is composed of 100 islands and reefs, with some of the most dramatic coastlines in Europe, along with numerous cultural attractions.

Then it’s on to Zadar, an important metropolis in historic Dalmatia, and today one of the most energetic and culturally engaged cities in Europe. The music even reaches the sea – literally – with the enormous Zadar Sea Organ playing in response to the waves. After a night here, sail on to Rogoznica, sneaking into a secluded bay for an afternoon swim before you disembark to explore the local restaurants and cafes.

On your way back to Split, enjoy more swimming before a city tour takes you to some of the highlights of this beautiful city. Be sure not to miss Diocletan’s Palace before you depart.
