Hiroshima Tours and Vacation Packages

  • The A-Bomb Dome is one of the most photographed structures on our Japan tours.
  • The Children's Peace Monument
  • A-Bomb Dome
  • Hiroshima Castle
  • Hiroshima Memorial Park

Although widely known as the city destroyed by an atomic bomb in 1945, Hiroshima is now a modern, cosmopolitan city, featuring excellent cuisine and bustling nightlife on Japanese tours.

A mostly industrial city, best known for its production of Mazda vehicles, Hiroshima is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture and the largest city in the Chugoku region of western Honshu.

Peace Memorial Park is one of the most prominent features in Hiroshima. Previous to its construction, the area was the financial and political heart of Hiroshima, thereby making it the prime target for the bombing on August 6th, 1945.

Today this 120,000 sq. metre park, featuring several memorials, monuments, museums, and lecture halls, acts as a tribute to the bomb’s direct and indirect victims (approx. 140,000). As well it stands as an advocate for world peace while remembering this devastating incident in Japanese history. The park is also the site of the annual 6 August Peace Memorial Ceremony, a ceremony held every year on the anniversary of the bomb attack.

One of Peace Memorial Park’s features is the Atomic Bomb Dome which can be seen on Hiroshima tours. With only the partially-standing structure and skeletal ruins left after the bomb attack, this domed building is now listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Another UNESCO World Heritage Site is Itsukushima Shrine, located in Miyajima Islands as part of Hiroshima Prefecture.

Featuring various art galleries, parks, and museums, Hiroshima had been declared the City of Peace in 1969 by the Japanese parliament and now receives more international attention as a desirable location for holding international conferences on peace as well as social issues.
