Early Bookers Set to Enjoy Discounts on Their Rail Tour of Australia

Goway is encouraging globetrotters to book early and save big on luxury train trips through the Australian outback.

The Downunder travel experts for over 40 years, Goway is offering early bookers good reason to explore the outback by rail, offering up to 20% off fares on two of Australia’s most iconic luxury train trips, The Ghan, and the Indian Pacific.

It’s a cliché, but there’s beauty in the land downunder that must be seen to be believed. The same can be said of its vastness. Ambitious travellers taking a tour of Australia sometimes underestimate the distances, and differences, between the country’s states. While Australia is a great country for a road trip, a self-drive itinerary isn’t going to suit everyone, particularly when it comes to reaching far flung states such as the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

The Ghan is a luxury service linking culture-loving Adelaide to tropical Darwin, with a stop in Alice Springs, the unofficial capital of outback Australia. Goway’s Ghan Expledition is a 4-day trip departing from Darwin, stopping at Alice Springs and the opal mining town of Coober Pedy before ending in Adelaide. Each stop allows time for an unforgettable outback experience, such as flying over Uluru and Kata Tjuta, an Aussie damper dinner under the stars, or an underground tour of Coober Pedy. Darwin and Adelaide themselves also have much to offer any traveller with a few days to spare.

Those with more time who really want ‘get out there’ might enjoy the Indian Pacific, an epic rail journey from Sydney to Perth, the world’s most remote capital city. Goway’s Trans Continental Classic includes part of this trip in a 13-day Australia vacation, also covering Sydney, a day trip to Canberra, and a visit to Kangaroo Island, one of natural Australia’s must-sees. It also includes a taste of the Barossa Valley, arguably Australia’s most famous wine region, and a short Perth tour. Central to the itinerary however is the trip on the Indian Pacific across the Nullabor Plain, from Adelaide to Perth, taking in parts of the country that even most Australians will never see, though passengers will certainly meet some adventure-hungry locals looking to rectify that.

Globetrotters who book by March 31, 2016 for departures at least six months in advance will save 20% on Gold Service fares, and 10% on Platinum Service fares on these itineraries. Goway can also assist with competitive airfares from North America, and within Australia and the South Pacific.
