Goway’s Newest South Africa Trip Walks in the Footsteps of Nelson Mandela

Goway invites Globetrotters to walk in the footsteps of a national icon with a new history-focused South Africa vacation.

Goway is launching a new South Africa itinerary to mark what would have been the 100th birthday of Nelson Mandela. Starting in Johannesburg and continuing on to Durban and Cape Town, the Walking in his Footsteps – Mandela’s Centenary puts an historic spin on a classic South Africa vacation.

2018 marks the year that Nelson Mandela (Madiba) would have turned 100. To celebrate his legacy Goway has put together a special tour commemorating his centenary. The ‘Walking in His Footsteps’ experience highlights milestones and events that shaped the course of South African history during Mandela’s lifetime.

This deluxe tour includes Madiba-inspired tourist attractions in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town. In addition to highlighting the must-dos in these three cities, the Walking in His Footsteps tour puts the focus on historic sites key to understanding Mandela’s story such as the apartheid museum, Robben Island, where Mandela was once a political prisoner, and of course, the Nelson Mandela Museum.

“Nelson Mandela was a world icon, not just a hero to South Africans,” said Moira Smith, General Manager, Goway Africa. “Although this specific tour includes many touch-points to celebrate his life, we can tailor-make any of our current product offerings to suit our customer’s interests or budget.”

The 10-day itinerary includes all airport transfers, accommodation, daily breakfast, two dinners, all day tours and activities as per the itinerary, plus exclusive value adds including a wine tasting, guided city walk, a voucher to Jive Spa, and more.
