Your trip to France showcases Avignon, the medieval city that was home to the popes during the 14th century. Staying in a first-class hotel in the city’s core, you’ll spend a few days exploring the city and its surroundings, learning about the fascinating medieval history and enjoying the exceptional food and wine scene. One day, a small group tour will showcase a few of the city’s most famous landmarks, not least of which is the Palais des Papes, the massive Gothic fortress-turned-palace that’s one of Europe’s most beautiful works of architecture and was home to the Pope for around 70 years in the 14th century.
