FIRST-CLASS | PRIVATE-GUIDED: Explore the wilds of Kenya on this journey to several conservancies in the country. Heading from Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy to Masai Mara National Reserve, you’ll stay in luxury safari camps as you enjoy game drives into the bush to see flamingos, lions, and the wonders of the Great Migration.

This 9-day Kenyan safari takes you to several nature conservancies throughout the country.

Your Kenya vacation begins in the capital, Nairobi. You might be a little overwhelmed when you first step foot in Nairobi, taken aback by the jungle of concrete high-rises and heavy traffic, but it won’t take you long to attune to the city’s vibrant energy. During your day in the city, take advantage of the incredible food scene in some of the many local restaurants and learn about the country’s history at the Nairobi National Museum.

Leave Nairobi and head to your first nature conservancy, Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is famous for its conservation programs for white and black rhinos (it was home to the world’s last northern white rhino, Sudan, who died March 2018). It’s also the only conservancy in Kenya with a chimpanzee sanctuary. During your time at Ol Pejeta, you’ll stay at Sweetwaters Serena Camp, a 5-star luxury camp that has 39 premium tents with private verandas overlooking the central waterhole where wild animals come to wash and bathe each evening. Spend your time in the conservancy heading on game drives and visiting the chimpanzee sanctuary as well as the rhino centre, where you’ll learn about the efforts to revive extinct rhino species.

Continue your Kenyan safari by heading to Soysambu Wildlife Conservancy, located in the Great Rift Valley. You’ll stay at Lake Elementaita Luxury Camp, a 5-star camp that captures the romance of the past on the banks of Lake Elementaita. Spend a full day heading on a game drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, where you’ll see thousands of flamingos drawn to the alkaline in the lake. On the drive back to the lodge, you’ll also see Rothschild giraffes, rhinos, and leopards heading throughout the bush.

Close out your trip to Kenya in Masai Mara National Reserve, the most famous game reserve in Kenya. Staying in one of the spacious rooms at Mara Serena Safari Lodge, you’ll head on game drives throughout the park to see the Big Five. If you visit during the dry season, you’ll also get front-row seats to the Great Migration, that incredible movement of over one million wildebeest and zebras. During your time in the park, you’ll also visit a Masai village to meet the traditional inhabitants of the region and learn about their distinct cultural traditions. You’ll then return to Nairobi for your flight home.
