DELUXE | CRUISE: Travel down the exotic waterways of the Ecuadorian Amazon, relaxing in luxury by night while participating in a range of exhilarating and ethical activities by day. Search for red howler monkeys in the rainforest canopy, explore waterways alongside piranha and witness hundreds of parrots lick eroded clay walls.

This luxury cruise takes you through the wonders of the Ecuadorian Amazon.

The Anakonda Amazon River Cruise is the only luxury cruise liner in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest. Its 18 suites, each with an area of 215-258 square feet, are equipped with air conditioning and 24-hour electricity, each with a private bathroom with hot water and all necessary amenities. To accommodate families, Anakonda offers four interconnected suites. Passengers can socialize in the dining room, bar, observation deck with an outdoor Jacuzzi, and in the al fresco lounge.

From Quito, fly to Coco and take a motorized canoe down the Amazon to where the Anakonda anchors on the river. As you move down the river, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the majesty of the Amazon. The Amazon Rainforest is the largest rainforest in the world and home to billions of organisms, from the towering canopy trees that sustain the wildlife to the monkeys and parrots that make the jungle so exotic. The Amazon River itself is possibly the longest river in the world and the primary source of water for the Atlantic Ocean.

At Panacocha, hike into the surrounding jungle to search for adorable squirrel monkeys. If you’re brave enough, swim in the waters alongside water monkey fish, white caiman and piranha—don’t believe the movies. Piranha are much less aggressive towards humans than advertised. Further on, you’ll see one of the best sites of the Ecuadorian Amazon: the Parrot clay licks. These eroded clay walls attract hundreds of colourful parrots to them, who lick the clay to digest antacids and antitoxins that counteract some of the dangerous nutrients of their diet.

This luxury cruise down the Ecuadorian Amazon allows you to witness the rainforest’s exotic animals and stunning landscape from the glamourous comforts of the Anakonda.

The surrounding protected rainforest is home to 9 species of primates, 500 species of birds and more than 100 fish species. It is the ideal habitat for piranhas, paiches (one of the largest freshwater fiches in the word) and the white caiman. In this little piece of paradise, participate in nature walks led by local naturalist guides and later relax at a nearby campsite where a delicious Amazon-style BBQ with refreshing beverages will be served.
