This is a sample itinerary, which is fully customizable. This 10-day Portuguese group vacation showcases some of Portugal’s most famous sites, as well as the lovely villages and historic landmarks that are often missed on typical tours. In the capital Lisbon, your group will get a cultural introduction to Portugal with a city tour, painting workshop, and evening show where you’ll listen to the haunting rhythms of Fado music. Then begin your journey across the nation to Portugal’s hidden corners.

Gaze out upon the waters of the Atlantic from Rocca Cape, the westernmost tip of the European continent. Explore the defensive walls and medieval fortifications of the village of Obidos. Marvel at the Monumental Cistercian Abbey of Santa Maria in Alcobaca, founded almost a thousand years ago. Take the pilgrimage route to Fatima, where three shepherds were blessed with visions of the Virgin Mary in 1917. Learn to cook some local favourites in Mirad’aire before you tour the canals, workshops, and oyster farms of Aveiro, known as the Portuguese Venice. Cross the Passadicos de Paiva, the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world. Then cap off the group vacation with a few days in Porto and the Douro Valley, exploring the famous home of port wine with some wine tastings, and cruising down the Douro River on a boat tour.

Day 1

Arrive Lisbon

Welcome to the sunniest city of Europe, Lisbon.

Lisbon is well known by the seven hills. Meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure

Day 2

Lisbon

This morning we invite you to discover LISBON, one of the oldest capitals of Europe. The city of seven hills seduces visitors with its charm, brightness and warm welcome.

You will start by visiting the neighborhood of Belém, "Treasure Island" between the Tagus and the sounds of the city. It was from Belém that the caravels of the Discoveries departed.

You will admire the Hieronymite Monastery (not included), splendor of Manueline Art, and the Tower of Belém (outside). During the visit, tasting of the famous "Pastel of Belém"(not included), typical pastry of Lisbon. Visit the Tile Museum and enjoy a painting workshop (included).

Suggestion: Lunch overlooking a local market (not included)

In the afternoon, visit the “Aqueduct” “das águas livres” followed by an underground visit of Lisbon through the water route of Lisbon.

Tonight enjoy your dinner and discover the real meaning of the word Saudade to the sound of Fado Music.

Day 3

Sintra and Cabo da Roca

Departure for Biester Palace (entrance included), an astonishing castellated building of the 19th century. After enjoy a walking tour of the fairytale village of SIintra

Suggestion: Enjoy a Seafood Restaurant or a local Suckling Pig (not included)

Then you’ll head to Roca Cape, the westernmost tip of continental Europe. Continue to the seaside village of Cascais, do not miss a stop at the hell Hole.

Day 4

Lisbon - Óbidos - Nazaré - Alcobaça - Alvados

After Breakfast depart towards Óbidos a small village completely surrounded by ancient defensive walls with some precious monuments, fine towers and its medieval castle.
Then, continue to Nazaré, the most typical and colourful fishing village of Portugal.
Visit to the Sítio to have a wonderful view over the town and the beach.

Proceed to AlcobaçaA where you will admire the Monumental Cistercian Abbey of Santa Maria, founded in 1152 (UNESCO Heritage listed).

Lunch in a local restaurant.

Visit the wine Museum (included).

Day 5

Fátima and Serra D'Aire

This morning discover Fátima the Holy Marian Shrine, world famous pilgrimage site, where the Virgin Mary appeared to the three little shepards for the first time on the 13th of May 1917.
Continue to the Mirad’aire (entrance included) admire the limestone formations.

After visit the Miet the textile Museum where you can admire and learn hoe the tapestries are made (included).

Return to your hotel.

In the afternoon enjoy a leisure hiking Tour around the “serra de Mirad’aire” to discover the different aromatic herbs that can be used on the daily bases.
Tonight for dinner enjoy a Cooking Lesson with the chef, learn how to do a Portuguese dish.

Day 6

Alvados - Coimbra - Aveiro

Depart towards Coimbra. Coimbra has many things to see including one of the oldest Universities in Europe We’ll take a panoramic tour of the city including the famous Hotel Quinta das Lagrimas. The setting of this remarkable hotel is a wooded, lake-strewn estate, where the romantic memory still lingers of the tragic love affair between Royal Prince D. Pedro and the beautiful doomed Inez de Castro, put to death by order of King and, to this day, mourned and sung by the poets.

We set out toward Aveiro, called “the Portuguese Venice” with its canals where are anchor the Moliceiros, coloured fishing boats with their bows raised. Stop at the train station to admire the amazing panel of glazed tiles that decorated the facade and illustrate Aveiro’s monuments and the entire region.Then we will take a short workshop of “Ovos Moles” (included), a kind of wafer fitted by egg’s jam, speciality of the city.

Visit the local Oyster farm followed by tasting (included).

Day 7

Aveiro - Passadiços do Paiva - Porto

Today you will enjoy a trekking on “Passadiços do Paiva”

In the afternoon cross the Longest pedestrian suspension Bridge in the world (entrance included). Then travel to Oporto.

Day 8

Porto

Today you’ll discover Porto You’ll stroll around Porto’s typical quarters (especially the area on the waterside the "zona ribeirinha") and its bustling downtown. You’ll visit the Stock Exchange Palace (entrance included), the Roman-Gothic Cathedral (exterior), the Church of Cedofeita (Romanesque) (exterior), the Clérigos Tower (Oporto's exlibris)(esterior and the Church of Carmo (exterior), with its tiled facades.

For lunch, don't miss “Francesinha”, a local favorite.

In the afternoon visit to a Port wine cellar including a Port wine tasting. After the visit enjoy a local Cod Fish cake to the sound of a mini Organ Concert.

After some leisure time on the new Cultural Spot in Oporto “Wow”. You can visit on your terms one of your favourite experiences.

Day 9

Douro Valley

Discover the Douro region on a 4x4 on the back Roads.

We  visit Régua, capital of the Douro’s region. Admire the green landscape of this region. Visit of a local winery followed by a wine tasting (included).

You’ll lunch in a Quinta.

After lunch we will enjoy a Boat Tour on the Douro River (Pinhão – Romaneira - Pinhão, (+-1 hours) (included) (subject to availability). Admire the Old Train Station.

Depart Porto

Following breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight with fond memories of Portugal.
