Your journey to Zanzibar starts on the west coast of the island in Stone Town. A tour of this historical quarter will take you from the market to the Anglican Church, where slaves were sold during colonial times, to the State House and the Zanzibar Museum, which traces the history of the island. Then walk the actual corridors of Stone Town itself, weaving through winding alleyways and visiting the 16th-century Portuguese fort and old colonial mansions that were owned by spice and slave traders.
Connect to a pristine patch of beach along the island’s southeast coast and Breeze Beach Club & Spa, your 5-star home for the next four nights. Enjoy the beautiful and quiet location on one of the island’s best beaches and experience the comforts of Swahili hospitality. You’ll have three full days at leisure to enjoy the resort and the surrounding beaches and waters. Half Day Zanzibar Stone Town Tour Ex Stone Town
It is a wonderful introduction to Zanzibar and gives you a feel of the rich cultural heritage. One gets a comprehensive view, history and walk of the Stone Town, magnificence architecture, narrow alleys, sand and stone ancient built houses where some of them are over 200 years old that have Arab/Indian carved doors.
We start our tour at the main city market which was opened in 1904, where tropical fruits, vegetables, spices and fresh fish from the island are sold. Our next stop will be at the Anglican Church of Christ was built by Bishop Steers in 1873 on the site where the slaves were being auctioned.
