Travellers can head on a desert safari into the Qatari desert and see some of the robust wildlife that makes their home among the sand dunes. These animals include jackals, foxes, gazelles, and the Arabian oryx, the national animal, which has recently been reintroduced into the wild. A wide range of birds and reptiles also call the deserts home, including ostriches, falcons, and lizards. Off the coast, travellers can also see marine animals, including dugongs and sea turtles.
