Why is Belize a great place for a beach and island escape?

Belize is privileged with the Caribbean sea to the east and over 400 islands and cayes along its coast. Belize offers the second-largest impressive Barrier Reef in the world and the famous Blue Hole, stippled with hundreds of marine life, is perfect for snorkelling and diving. The most inhabited island is Ambergris Caye, home to world-famous resorts and beaches that attract English-speaking tourists for a vacation gateway. On the other hand, Belize is also hosting over 900 ancient Mayan sites and even more, it offers an incredible tropical forest, home to thousands of animals.

What are the top beach and island vacations/activities to do in Belize? 

Ambergris Caye is the largest island located in the northern part of Belize in the Caribbean Sea. You can get there by boat or plane. Most of the resorts are in San Pedro Village where it is easy to get around either by golf cart or water taxi. 

Hopkins is a very small town south of Dangriga. It stretches along the beautiful bay, home of the Garifuna population in Belize, it is a great place to learn about its unique culture. Placencia is located in the southern part of Belize, known for the best inland white sand beaches in addition to some of the most fascinating coral cayes. Around Placencia village, you can find many diving places on the Belize Barrier Reef. If you want to spoil yourself on a private Island, Cayo Espanto Island is the place!
